Shuyan obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Medicine degrees from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2023 and 2026, respectively. Her specialism is plastic surgery and her research has focused on wound healing, biomaterials, and tissue engineering, with particular interests in hydrogel-based therapies for chronic wounds and scar modulation. Shuyan will join the Armstrong Group in September 2026 as a PhD student through the China Scholarship Council–University of Bristol (CSC-UoB) programme. Her doctoral research will focus on developing new granular hydrogels for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
