Camila graduated from the University of Sao Paulo in 2020 with a Ph.D. in Chemistry. From 2018-2019 she undertook an international secondment at Sorbonne Université, where she specialized in collagen technology. Since 2020, Camila worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Sorbonne Université, leading research into the pathological and physiological formation of bone. She joined the Armstrong Group as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral fellow in February 2023, and is now leading research efforts to develop new biomaterials-based therapies for the repair of non-union bone fractures.
